The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) deals with science and technology for exploration and exploitation of ocean resources (living and non-living), pollution monitoring of coastal ocean. Ministry is the nodal agency for Antarctic/Arctic and Southern Ocean research. The central objective of the Ministry is to look after Atmospheric Sciences,
Ocean Science & Technology and Seismology in an integrated manner. MoES is also mandated to provide the nation with best possible services in forecasting the monsoons and other weather/climate parameters, ocean state, earthquakes, tsunamis and other phenomena related to earth systems through well integrated programmes.
Dr.Dastidar’s research interest is science and technology studies, scientometrics, bibliometrics, sociology of knowledge, knowledge economy, social network analysis and policy analysis. He has published papers in national and international journals; and delivered invited talks at national and international institutes/universities. He is advisor to projects of national and international relevance ongoing at national institutes.
